Edith is a danish Dancer, Choreographer & Teacher. She graduated from the Ballet Academy Copenhagen and Iwansson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich in 2011. Since then Edith has been working as a dancer for: Dali Touiti, Jiří Kylián/Karine Guizzo, Sebastian Prantll/TanzAtelier Wien, Stephan Dreher, Ilona Roth/Transitheart Productions, Rasmus Soerinus/CampNorr/Varq de Alvo Co. Joao Cidade, Corinna Speith, FIGURA Ensemble, Doris Schäffer/Regenbogen Tanztheater, Frank Balve, Martin Eder, RP KAHL, Jahman Davine, Zawirowania Dance Theatre & DOT504 with Thomas Steyart.
As a Choreographer Edith is interested in the reflection of human nature and its development, her experience as a photographer shows in her aesthetic approach, the balance between the beautiful and grotesk plays a big role in her work. She has been granted various residency programs in Denmark, Poland and Germany. Her recent works, “smell.me.ordinary piece” (chor. with Justyna Kalbarczyk), “Fate of the Galaxies” (Winner of jury award 100 berlin), “MURKY BLUSH”, “Before we Die”, “Through the Eyes of the Other” . In 2018 Edith founded Company HAA along side 3 other artists, which so far has created approximately 12 productions. To be premiered in 2020 is her short film “Os, Ingen” and her solo work “Methods of Completion, a being that causes it self” to be created during residency at Ada Studios.
Further more she is choreographing for Film, Theater & Opera with Directors such as Rolf Heim at The Royal Opera house (Copenhagen), Morten K. Rosen, Per Linderoth, Florin Vidamski, Florian von Hoerrmann, Valquire Velkovicq- and recently with Michael Venus for his Film “Schlaf” which premiered at Berlinale 2020.
She is regularly giving workshops for actors and directors on body awareness, approaching a character through movement, and releasing reliance on the brain. READ
