After 2 years in the planning I finally got to create "Passion" for Dance Company Cisne Negro in São Paolo. Here some impressions from rehearsals ! Working with Cisne Negro was a absolut blast, enriching and a massive honor! To be able to create for a company with such long history and for such skilled dancers and beautiful people, I left the place with so much gratitude ! My new research project "my texture through a lense" is a rather personal research and an attempt to allow for concrete reality and intimacy to enter my work. I have avoided speaking openly about my own trauma until now, in the fear of becoming to private or therapeutic. But I will try now, with the hope of creating methods and a format that can allow me to speak about concrete experiences and stories in an artistically uncompromising manner.
Through video diaries, my physical research and interviews with my family, friends and professionals on the subject- I will look for how my past has affected in my physical body and my identity.

Contemporary Dabke Workshop
Online from 8th of January on Mondiale Berlin. with Medhad Aldaabal, Edith Buttingsrud Pedersen and Ali Hasan The workshop focuses on creating complex body awareness, understanding body-mind connection, individual physicality and releasing reliance on the brain. We learn how to use the emotional state and the precise imagery as a motor for movement. We, Edith and Medhat, have combined the work of contemporary dance and traditional “Dabke” (a Syrian dance), into a fun and communal explorative journey for this workshop. We will work to free the body from its determination and ordinary paths, and encourage the participants to develop layers of complexity in their physical language. 3 days of shooting, 5 days of rehearsals and months of zoom calls, research exchange and and and .. is over .. it’ been a beautiful proces and it will be a beautiful film! It was an experiment, and an attempt to move away from the Guru mentality I sometimes experience in arts universities and theachings. I decided to work collaboratively and as a colleague rather than a teacher with my students from Athanor Akademie they made it possible for me to share and rely on them as friends, colleagues and Inspirational sources.
